What Is the HISA Benefit?
HISA stands for Home Improvements and Structural Alterations. This VA benefit helps eligible Veterans pay for medically necessary changes to their primary residence that improve access or support treatment.
Depending on the Veteran’s needs and VA approval, improvements may include accessible showers and widened doorways.
The VA determines eligibility and approves funding. AccessAbility provides project assessments, estimates, and installation; we do not apply for benefits on a Veteran’s behalf.
